Newcastle First responder group went live under the National Ambulance Service on November 1st.

From now on all 999 calls involving chest pain, cardiac arrest and stroke within a five mile radius of the village will be responded to by the group. All defibrillators in the village can be accessed by dialing 999 or 112 and the emergency operator will provide the code. The group will also be carrying out regular training scenarios in the area.
