The Duck Pond

The Duck Pond Newcastle

DUCK POND LOOP

If observing wildlife in an unspoiled natural habitat is your thing, then a visit to the wildlife sanctuary at Kildanogue should be on your wish-list.

Established in 1969 and upgraded in 2013, this tranquil haven features seven interlinked ponds with wheelchair friendly trails that loop through Birch and Ash forests.

The Sanctuary was created by Ardfinnan/Ballybacon/Grange/Newcastle (ABGN) gun club which has a strong focus on conservation and improving habitat while maintaining game stocks.
Witness wildlife from the observation deck, where Mallards can be seen splashing playfully. Or take in the tranquility at seating areas on your walk along winding paths, over small bridges and along boardwalks.
