Suir Blueway Works, progressing nicely.

Date: 23rd July 2019

It’s great to see that the works to connect Newcastle onto the recently launched Suir Blueway have started this morning. The works include repairing the wall at The Glen and creating a tarmac path from the church carpark across the field and into the river before the bridge.

This new amenity creates a new tourist potential for South Tipp and will attract more fishermen and watersports people to our village where they can enter the river and exit at any of the other newly developed Blueway points along the 53km path between Cahir and Carrick on Suir.
