The Rhododendron Walking Festival is a joint initiative between the Siul Eile community walking programme and the Knockmealdown Active activity based group. It’s purpose is to highlight the availability of walks, heritage & family activities available along the Knockmealdown Mountain region of south Tipperary. It is spectacular around the June Bank Holiday weekend each year, as it is around this time that the Rhododendron plants bloom, so this period was chosen for the festival.
