Join us for the 2024 Christmas Craft Fair in Newcastle on Sunday 8th December 2024 in the Community Hall at 12 noon to 5pm.

Indoor and outdoor stalls and a very Special Guest is due to arrive also.

Not only have we the man in the red suit as our special guest at the Newcastle craft fair – We also have the ‘TULLY TWINS’ ..#tullytwinssocks #Gogglebox #allyouneedforxmas come along for some fun & festive cheer – maybe even buy a pair or two of ‘Tully Twin socks ..Hope to see you all there.

Tractor Run in Aid of “Do It For Declan” will take place in Newcastle on Sunday 29th December in association with Newcastle Vintage Club. Registrations at 1am, Tractors depart 12 noon from the Community Hall.

Refreshments available in the Community Hall. All Tractors, Cars and Bikes welcome.

We had a busy week getting ready for the opening of the new field, putting up new signage, getting pitches cut and lined , painting floors and weeding and having the complex looking its best.

Congratulations to @Newcastle GAA committee and all involved and well done on a super day.

We had a lovely morning recently to say goodbye and Thank You to the mighty Christy Barrett, Christy was a stalwart on the scheme and could be seen flying by in the Massey135 or the ride on mower tending to the grass around the village.

Christy took great pride in his work and will be missed by us all as his time on the scheme comes to an end. We wish Christy all the best, Thanks to Eileen Condon for the food and cake and our Chairman Deputy Mattie McGrath and our Treasurer Liam Kelly for making the presentation. Sean Byrne CE Supervisor.

Big Upgrade!!..

We were delighted to facilitate the purchase of 4 new outdoor heated cabinets and a new AED for 4 of our local groups, We had the customary cuppa and handed over the new cabinets to representatives of Newcastle Gaa, Newcastle Voluntary Housing Association, Newcastle Muintir na Tire and a new cabinet and AED to Tigh na nDaoine Newcastle, We are very grateful to these groups for deciding to purchase this new equipment which will serve the community for years to come.

These new Cabinets will replace the old ones and begin to appear around the village very soon, Thanks to Fred Lee at First Aid Supplies for supplying everything so quickly and thanks again to our local groups and committees for their support

We were delighted to present our responders with their PHECC (Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council) Emergency First Responder and Community First Responder Advanced Certificates last night, the guys worked very hard to achieve these certifications and they bring a whole new skillset to the group, Especially when responding to Cardiac Arrest calls and First Aid Responder calls on behalf of the National Ambulance Service, Huge thanks as always to Donal Lonergan for facilitating and Tutoring the course and to Andrew Laste EMTS Ireland for providing the certificates, Andrew has always been a great support to us and we are very grateful for that ongoing support. Well done again to our fantastic Volunteers

Lots of Local Community Groups, our local school, individuals, businesses etc.. brought along their equipment, tools, bikes, gardening equipment, trailers and 2 Community First Responder Groups brought their Defib Units to be Marked. (EirCode is used)
