We had a busy week getting ready for the opening of the new field, putting up new signage, getting pitches cut and lined , painting floors and weeding and having the complex looking its best.

Congratulations to @Newcastle GAA committee and all involved and well done on a super day.

We had a lovely morning recently to say goodbye and Thank You to the mighty Christy Barrett, Christy was a stalwart on the scheme and could be seen flying by in the Massey135 or the ride on mower tending to the grass around the village.

Christy took great pride in his work and will be missed by us all as his time on the scheme comes to an end. We wish Christy all the best, Thanks to Eileen Condon for the food and cake and our Chairman Deputy Mattie McGrath and our Treasurer Liam Kelly for making the presentation. Sean Byrne CE Supervisor.

BN&B CE Scheme – update on some of the work done for our community by this Group

We just wanted to post some images from the BN&B FaceBook Account to show the mighty work this group does in our community.

Sometimes not really seen but has to be acknowledged for the massive maintenance and beautification work that is done week in week out for our communities and community groups.

This is just a small sample of the work carried out by these guys under the direction and support of Sean Byrne the Scheme coordinator. Thank You All.

BN&B CE Scheme Annual Christmas Breakfast

Wednesday 21st December 2022:

BN&B CE Scheme in Newcastle, our annual Christmas Breakfast on Wednesday 21st December 2022.

Small presentations were made to recent retirees from the scheme as a token of our gratitude for their service over the last number of years.

It was the first breakfast since 2019.

Thanks to Sean Byrne and all those involved in the B.N. & B. C.E. Scheme.

BN&B CE Scheme, St Mary’s Church Ballybacon Project is completed.

So, from time to time we are asked to help out with some very special tasks and this one was very special and we had to keep it under wraps. Fr Michael asked us to help him move the stations of the cross, the alter, and the ambos from St Lukes Church Clonmel to St Mary’s Church Ballybacon. We sanded them down and varnished them and put them in place in the church, we also sanded and varnished the paschal candle, chair and the beautiful tabernacle and situated it on the alter, it was a privilege to be involved and it is a great time for the parishioners of Ballybacon. Thanks to Dan, Christy, John, Tony, and Jimmy for helping move everything and to Tony Murphy for his amazing work, it will be there for everyone to see for years to come – Sean Byrne BN&B CE Supervisor.
